Separated 2010
'Separated 2010-11'. Are portraits of young people who's parents had recently separated. It is an exploration on children who have lived or continue to live the decay of their parents relationship and the family unit as one. It is not only about separation, but the many events leading and preceding this change. It is a focus on who and what separation effects the most as well as a reflection on how common it is in our current western society.
The series was inspired by a portrait taken of one of my daughters at a very tumultuous time in her life: the separation of her parents. I had the fortunate displeasure to explore separation within my own family and continue to explore it as it is so common in today’s society.
