Not My House and Red Is The Republican Colour.
Though the pandemic has pushed my work in a different direction, 'Red Is The Republican Colour' still relates to the root of my practice which is centred around family. The work is inspired by conversations I have had with my American cousin throughout the pandemic and the 2020 US elections.
'Not My House' reflects on land ownership, as well my own progressive upbringing in relation to 2020 and my feelings of "this does not apply to me", which is untrue. 'Not My House' is a call for all (whites) to reflect on their position, no matter what that position is.
